In Loving Memory of Linda Jo Walker
Linda Jo Walker of Glenwood, Georgia passed away on April 8, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 74. She was born on October 14, 1950, in McRae, Georgia to Oscar Eddley and Eva Ruth Rawlins Allen. Linda was a lifelong resident of Polk County until recently moving back to Georgia in 2021.
Linda had worked for many years at Haines City Citrus Growers Association, as well as being the CFO for A. Walker Metals and Salvage. Inc., working alongside her husband in their family business. She was of the Baptist faith. Linda was a very humble and kind person. Linda was a huge supporter of education, having went back to school to receive her diploma in 1985.
For many years Linda was the Homeroom Mom for both Davenport Elementary and Alta Vista Elementary. In her spare time, she loved to crochet, draw and color, but her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her loving family and her dog, Callie.
She was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Eva and brother, Lonnie Allen. Linda is survived by her husband of 56 years, Aldon Walker; Two daughters, Chanda Graham (Shane) and Melissa Walker Hallett.
She is survived by six grandchildren, Felisha Carpenter (Kyle), Dustyn Walker (Sunrise), Tristan Graham (Kayla), Dawson Hallett,
Layla Hallett, Raylan Hallett and their father, Heath Hallett.
Great Grandchildren, Rylee Reeves, Paisleigh Carpenter, Ryleigh Carpenter, David Raymond Walker, Brentley Walker and Kyle Carpenter, Jr.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Georgia Hospice Care for their dedication to Linda and her family during this time. Melody, Tasha, Pam, and the rest of the staff will never be forgotten.
A visitation will be Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 1 pm until the funeral at 2 pm at Harvest at the Barn in Davenport, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida via: Donate to Mayo Clinic
